Feeling Strong Now....

Back on plan today - training starts with Tae Bo tonight, then an early morning couple of laps (or mid-afternoon depending on how it goes!!). I am actually looking forward to some good old training pain :D

Tough week...

Sam has not been well this week so we have taken it easy... just a couple of laps with the boys each day. Monday morning we are back on plan with a workout before work each day (we'll see how that goes!!) and the longer walks on Sundays... after all, Christmas is just around the belly!

Sign up is from Jan 14th....

I've been trying out some Dr. Scholl support and it seems to be helping... good job too as that was no fun. I've never really done running or walking as a sport - it's always been cycling for me (plus a bit of football).  We have a year or so to build up some serious endurance, so hopefully (with the help of Taebo) we'll be up for the job :) We shall be signing up as soon as we can ...

Pain...suffering... !!!

We did the same distance this weekend, but I struggled .... got knee and foot pain a couple of miles in which damaged the time a little. Still managed 11 miles though which I'm pleased about. Sam thinks the pain is due to my sneakers so it looks like I'm going to have to invest in a more supporting pair. Going to start doing a couple of miles in the morning as well now....

Putting in some distance...

Getting up early tomorrow with Sam to see if we can do 1/3 of a Marathon! It's difficult to train together as we have Will, who moans after 1 mile, and Iain who moans after getting in the buggy!! So we're getting a sitter once in a while to watch over them while we go out to torture our sneakers!!.... must go put the Gatorade in the fridge!...

Heads up....

Just to get an idea of what it's like... Don't know how I'm going to get up that early..!!

Running a Marathon

Yep, you heard right. Jan 2009 Disney World Marathon. We decided to have our mid-life crisis early to get it out of the way !! Anyway I thought I'd write it down to show my commitment to it...  I once ran 16 miles over some steep hills (what was normally my bike route) so I know how much fun it can be.... who am I kidding?? I was 17 and fit then!!  Think positive... keep moving forward !! (now repeat 26 times!)
