Pain...suffering... !!!

We did the same distance this weekend, but I struggled .... got knee and foot pain a couple of miles in which damaged the time a little. Still managed 11 miles though which I'm pleased about. Sam thinks the pain is due to my sneakers so it looks like I'm going to have to invest in a more supporting pair. Going to start doing a couple of miles in the morning as well now....

I believe you are doing too much too fast. Up until you got this wild hair up your ass to run a marathon, how much running did you actually do? On a regular basis?

Slow down, cowboy. You have over a year to get ready. Work within your OWN fitness level or your body will make you suffer,

A little pain never hurt anyone... wait... My main exercise has always been cycling, so I've never had to worry about foot support in the way you do with walking/running. I think once I've had my feet measured properly everything should get a lot less painful :) Thanks for the concern though!

Try and see. I hope it is as simple as your shoes. Don't forget that even with walking there is more impact than with cycling - Don't go nuts or you'll get hurt. That's all I'm saying.
